After I made my St. Patrick's Day post, I got a couple of e-mail responses. One was from Diane and one was from Aunt Jean.
Diane wrote:
Rogers is our Irish name. They came from Londonderry, Ireland. So we definitely have Irish blood in us. I went to Lubec last year and went to some of the places Grammy use to tell me about when I was little. It was really awesome to experience that.
Aunt Jean wrote:
Your great grandfather John McLeod Moore had an Irish middle name; it was a family name from before. He picked up Tim when he was a few days old and said "What a great Irish lad. So there, you foolish child. Lots of shamrocks in your blood."
Thanks for the e-mails, ladies! Those are precious tidbits from our family heritage and I'm so glad to hear about them! If you, or anyone else has any more stories, bits of family history, anything ... please share!
